(#94) Breathing for Focus

“Noradrenaline is also released, though in different amounts, during times of intense focus, curiosity, or passion, promoting the growth of new connections in the brain. Researchers…found that slow, controlled, deep breathing helps the brain nail the noradrenaline “sweet spot,” heightening attention and getting people laser focused.”

Next time we need focus, let’s breathe slowly and deeply to hit our “noradrenaline sweet spot.” Anecdotally, I’ve found it only takes a few breaths to reset and regain focus.  It’s simple and highly effective 🙏

P.S. This pairs nicely with our latest Science 411 on how slow breathing improves executive function.
