(#88) New Sci411: Breathing Improves Cognition

It’s Friday, so a new Science 411 was just released.

 

This is an excellent, recently-published (2022) study on breathing and executive function.

 

It found that 15-min of slow breathing:

  • Improved attention control

  • Improved working memory

  • Increased cognitive flexibility

Take-home: Slow breathing helps you plan, monitor, and execute your goals.
