(#172) Slow Breathing May Reduce Risk of Alzheimer’s

“As far as we can tell from the published literature and ClinicalTrials.gov searches, this study provides the first evidence of a behavioral intervention that reduces Aβ levels (measured with plasma, CSF or PET) compared to a randomized control group.”

Nature Sci Rep (2023)

This week’s 411 is on a newly-published study (rightfully) getting a lot of attention.  Perhaps not enough attention.

It found that 20-40 minutes of daily slow breathing reduced amyloid-β levels, a key biomarker for the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Pretty remarkable stuff.

I hope you enjoy the 411 (and the slightly modified format to make it easier to follow)!

Have a great weekend,
