(#157) It Actually Worked Perfectly

I was so tired this past Saturday night that I fell asleep twice during my nighttime breathing practice.

Then, right when it finished, and I was about to fall asleep for good, I thought, “Oh s***, there was a huge package in front of the neighbor’s door!”  I knew they were out of town, so I didn’t want to leave it out overnight.

I got up, got dressed, and as I was walking out the door, I remember thinking “Well, that breathing practice was useless now.”

Then, as I was carrying the heavy box back across the street to my house—being a good neighbor—it hit me that the practice had actually worked perfectly.

Try to find an inconspicuous way in which your chosen contemplative practice shows up to help you be a better person today 🙏
