(#144) Voluntary Control of Respiration Patterns

“Any clinician treating patients who manifest excessive stress syndromes should consider controlled respiration as a potentially suitable intervention for virtually all patients.”

- Everly and Lating (2019)

It’s Friday, so a new Science 411 was just released.  Today, we have an awesome one, Voluntary Control of Respiration Patterns, a book chapter in A Clinical Guide to the Treatment of the Human Stress Response.

It was a quick and easy overview of the benefits of diaphragmatic breathing from a clinical perspective.  The quote above sums it up perfectly.

I hope you enjoy this super practical 411 🙏
