“Slow breathing could be a simple beneficial intervention in diabetes.”
The above statement is almost too good to be true. But it was published in Nature, one of the world's most prestigious journals.
As it turns out, there have been hundreds (maybe thousands) of studies showing how breathing can help diabetes or conditions related to diabetes, such as anxiety, autonomic dysfunction, and hypertension.
Of course, it’s not a cure-all. But as you will learn on this site, a regular breathing practice is perhaps the simplest and most effective thing you can do to improve your blood sugars and address many common diabetic complications.

Who is The Breathing Diabetic?
Hi, I’m Nick
I have been a type-1 diabetic for over 20 years. A few years ago, I made some simple changes to my breathing, and my blood sugars have never been better. This put me on a journey to understand the science behind breathing and diabetes. This website documents that journey.
I hope this site will help you breathe better and improve your overall health and well-being.
